AMD Llano: HP DV6-6100 Series: How to overclock the A6-/A8-CPU and 6750-GPU

August 2, 2011 2 comments

It is possible to overclock the A6 or A8 CPU with K10Stat 1.52, you just need to set the P-States to the correct levels (FID/PID and voltage)
My AMD A6-3410MX is running with the following settings:
B0: 2600 Mhz /1.0625V
P0: 2600 Mhz /1.0625V
P1: 1500 Mhz /0.9750V
P2: 1400 Mhz /0.9625V
P3: 1300 Mhz /0.9500V
P4: 1200 Mhz /0.9375V
P5: 1000 Mhz /0.9250V
P6: 800 Mhz /0.8500V

My findings about GPU-OC so far:
It only works with MSI Afterburner 2.1 or Beta 2.2 (other tools like Sapphire Trixx oder EVGA Precision or ATI…Tools didn´t work), you have to enable OC for AMD/ATI in the MSIAFTERBURNER.ini-File.
I installed BIOS F.1D as direct download from the HP-Supportpage.
I got it only to work with Catalyst 11.6 and the default HP driver, but it also works with crossfire enabled. Newer drivers->freeze+bluescreen. For OC you need to start GPU-Z and assign the 6750 / high performance. If there is no active application with high performance setting, OC doesn´t work. Then the clocksettings for the GPU and RAM are automatically set back to default.

Acer Ferrari One + Fujitsu Amilo Graphicbooster = Working! Who needs the Dynavivid Dock?! (Update)

February 9, 2010 19 comments

A couple of days ago I received an email from Acer which said that there is no confirmed release date for the Acer Dynavivid docking station.
So I decided to order the Fujitsu Amilo Graphicbooster instead with the XGP-interface and a ATI Radeon 3870.
Yesterday it arrived and I tried it for the first time: After some driver issues it finally worked, even on the internal LCD-Screen.

Mass Effect looks beautiful with all effects turned on and I scored 5432 in 3DMark2006 without tweaks. Crysis is also playable with high settings and 2xAA.

More soon…

Update: I have added a video:

January 1, 2010 1 comment

Today I managed to overclock the graphics controller of my Acer Ferrari One, the method should work for all netbooks or notebooks with the RS780-chipset. The Windows performance index increased from 4.9 to 5.1 in game performance, 3DMark2006 increased to 1240 3DMarks (with 470Mhz/1380Mhz GPU/CPU-clock).
